Family Time!

Just some pictures from the last couple of weeks.  We are loving this holiday season and spending time together!
Merry Christmas! :)  She is so big sitting in her seat.

Love this family!

Date Night!

Kennedy went swimming for the first time at the hotel we stayed at.  She actually really seemed to like the water.

Love her smile!

2 months old

This girl is getting so big!  Weighing 10 lbs. 15 oz. (46th percentile) and 21 inches (26th percentile).  She has been talking and smiling so much!  Morning is my favorite time with her, because she is so happy.  She also LOVES books!  I can read her 4 or 5 at a time and she will just be mesmerized by them.  It's so stinky cute.

Enjoying the end of Fall

We had a great Halloween!  We got to go see Lela (Grandma Noni) at work and then we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Brown's house for dinner.  It is surprisingly hard to find a newborn costume that isn't way over priced.  I saw an adorable zebra costume that wasn't too bad, but it was too big for Kennedy.  However, it got me thinking.  We came across some PJ's that were zebra print and I decided to attempt to make ears to go with them to turn it into a costume.  Success!  I have to say I was very proud of myself.  If you know me, then you know I am not crafty AT ALL.  I guess trying to save money plus plenty of time on my hands has got me to be more creative. :)  I actually kind of enjoyed it surprisingly.  So, I was very happy with Kennedy's first Halloween costume.  Now onto Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Lela was SO happy to see her little zebra and she had to take her all over to show her off of course.

Cousins.

She loves her Grandpa Brown!

Happy Halloween!

We also had Kennedy's blessing on November 4th.  She had so many family and friends come to show their love.  It was a great day and we are so grateful for all the wonderful people in Kennedy's life.

The dress she is wearing was the dressed I was blessed in too.
My mom came up to babysit while we went to the game. Go RSL!  Can't wait to instill a love of soccer in this little one!

Introducing Kennedy N Brown!

Our lives have officially changed!  We are so in love with our beautiful daughter!  She is such a good baby.  She is very patient and sweet.  We are still trying to get her to sleep a little better and on a schedule, but hopefully that will come soon.  She has TONS of hair which I love. :)  Here are some pictures of her!

Birth Story.  Well it was quite a long labor!  I started having contractions around 2 am on Wednesday, September 19th. (Her due date) They would get between 10 and 6 minutes apart, but not any closer and they weren't super hard.  Bryant stayed home from work and we tried to do a lot of walking to help move things along.  We were pretty tired since we had been up a lot of the night though.  All day they just stayed around 10 minutes apart.  Luckily, I had a doctor's appointment at 3:30 that day, so we just went to the appointment and I told my doctor what had been going on. She stripped my membrane and decided to schedule me to be induced the next morning if my contractions still hadn't progressed, because she said it could go on like that for days.  However, about 5:00 pm I could definitely tell the contractions were getting stronger.  We went home and started packing up.  By 8:30 I was having a lot of pain and the contractions were getting closer; about 3-6 minutes apart.  Sometimes it would go a little longer between, but I couldn't take it anymore and wanted to go to the hospital.  So, we went and the nurse checked me.  At my doctor's appointment I was about 2 1/2 centimeters and when we got to the hospital I was a 3 1/2.  So, they said that was a good sign, but they were going to call the doctor and see if she wanted me to stay or go home.  I would have liked them to try and send me home!  No way!  Luckily, my doctor said I should just stay, because I was scheduled to come the next morning anyway.  Plus, as soon as I got dressed in the hospital gown and laid in the bed my water broke 1/2 way and a little later broke completely, so I was staying either way. When my water broke my contractions got incredibly more painful and I really wanted an epidural at that point.  It sure took a while to get it and by the time the anesthesiologist came I was begging for it.  I do not know how people go natural.  I was dying!  I felt so much better after I got the epidural and so we just did a lot of sleeping.  My mom came up too.  It was nice to just sleep, because I was so tired.  My nurse would just come in every hour and check me and then move me into a different position to try and keep me dilating.  It took all night long.  Around 8:30 am I was at and 8 and started to feel a lot of pressure, which didn't feel very good.  There was a nurse change and my new nurse put me in a different position that she said would hopefully help make it go faster.  I was so glad, because I went from an 8 to a 10 in like half an hour.  Thank goodness!  Once I started pushing I felt a lot better.  I pushed for about an hour and a half and she was finally here!  We had a little scare, because Kennedy had been doing really well throughout the whole labor, but her heart rate started dropping towards the end and the doctor realized her cord was wrapped around her neck.  She came out blue, but ended up being okay.  I didn't even know anything was wrong until it was over.  I was so grateful for my doctor who acted very calm, but made sure she came fast and that she was okay.  She also had a fever when she was born, because I had a fever while in labor.  So, they watched her a little more closely, but again everything was fine.  It was an incredible experience.  One that I could never really put into words.  I'm so happy to not be pregnant.  It is amazing how much better I feel. :)

Welcome baby girl!
